		<description>It was tough today to make myself exercise, but I did it!! I did my favorite aerobics exercise video from the past (actually, I only have 2 to choose from :-)), and did it *all* even though I haven&#039;t done it probably since before I got pregnant with my first son (4 years now!!). I didn&#039;t do the treadmill, but I think I made up for it--the video is probably nearly 50 minutes long. It&#039;s got the warm-up, aerobics part, slight cool-down, and then a toning portion followed by the final cool-down. Yippee!</description>

Thanks for the tips.  I&#039;ll try to start small at least.  Maybe if I don&#039;t focus on the time but just start with saying this one song, or something, lol.</description>

		<description>One tip is to pick a good time for you (which may be different from my best time). I try to work out when my kids are in bed--either before they wake up in the morning or during their nap. When is the best time for you? If you&#039;re not a morning person, then first thing in the morning may feel like &quot;cruel and unusual&quot; punishment. :-) But if you don&#039;t have a better time to do it, you may just have to knuckle under and do it. If you find it too easy to procrastinate, then you&#039;ll probably just have to do it first thing. Write up a schedule, and decide the time to exercise. You&#039;re the boss of the schedule, and then the schedule is the boss of you. :-)

Pick something you like--if you really hate walking, you probably won&#039;t stick with it long enough to make it a habit, or long enough to tolerate or enjoy it. Of course, weather does play into it, too, but that&#039;s where exercise videos come in handy. One thing about them, though, is that you really ought to watch it through at least once without trying to follow it, so you can learn some of the steps. I *hate* feeling like a total klutz while those spandex-clad skinny so-and-so&#039;s do everything just so perfect. Of course, you don&#039;t have to follow a video, if you can find some workout routine you can do--maybe with weights, or just resistance-training. You don&#039;t have to have a machine to do squats or jumping-jacks.

And remember, that two small steps that you do take are better than one big step you don&#039;t take! I tried to do another of my old videos today (&quot;total body workout&quot;) and couldn&#039;t do all of the leg exercises. I&#039;ve always been able to do the leg exercises--I felt so out of shape! But I did what I could, and tomorrow I&#039;ll be able to do more. For me, 20 minutes of energetic dance would probably be too much, but I&#039;d try to see how long I could go...and then tomorrow try for more.</description>
