Well, it’s the new year, and so many of us are having (and probably already breaking) resolutions to lose weight, and I thought this could be a place where we could get together and spur each other on in keeping our mouths shut (to sweets, or snacks, or second-helpings), and our bodies active. Please bear with me as I get this up and running–we’ll have pages for separate things, where we can be brutally honest with ourselves: journals, weekly weigh-ins, body measurements, daily diets (not what we ought to have eaten, but what we really ate–even down to that roll of Smarties), and real exercise. This isn’t for competition’s sake, although I hope we will have a bit of that. It’s more to get together online and be honest and lose weight. If I know that you have reached your goal for the week or the month, how much will that encourage me not to give up! If you know that I’ve already squeezed in 10 minutes on the treadmill or an exercise video, you’ll be able to find the time to do the same.

Hi Kathy. Thanks for stopping by my diet blog (http://dietdivas.wordpress.com). I think your blog is a great idea as well – something to act as a support is great. I’m going to add more to mine in terms of progress (measurements, weight, etc.) – it’s a little humiliating because I don’t know how I let myself get this way… Still I know it’s better to stop it from getting any worse!
